Arc’s report now includes published SUGAR reference values across all eight age bands, covering ages 3 years through 10 years, 11 months. The sample’s measures appear alongside the reference values for the child’s age.

Age-based comparisons

The report uses the age entered in the sample details to select the corresponding reference band. It shows the mean and standard deviation for total number of words, mean length of utterance, words per sentence, and clauses per sentence alongside the sample’s results.

The values come from Pavelko and Owens (2017) and Owens and Pavelko (2020).

Saved samples in the library

The sample library now includes a featured card for the most recently opened sample and a collection of the other saved samples. Card and list views provide different ways to browse the collection, with playback available from the sample cards.
